EVL Pro Star 250
This
review will unfortunately be a slimmed down one. We will basically pop
the covers off the unit and see what's in there.
At the very least owners of these units will know what to expect when
they come to replace a lamp or change over some gobo's.
To
start with we have the unit with the top cover removed.

As you can see a very nice even and clean layout, with most items easy
to reach
Here
we have the same item but shown from the base plate, here you can see
the connections and lamp adjustment fixings. Still the same clean layout
internally.

As can be seen above the Lamp is removed, also this is the three button
model which was last used on the V3.3 units.
The newer V3.4 units feature a 4 button menu which is faster and easier
to use.
Now
we flip it around and take a look from the Lens down onto the unit.

With having the transformers on opposing sides helps balance the unit,
and the front focus ring is well supported.
As canbe seen the gobo wheel is nicely accessible.
Moving round the side we can see the rotating Gobo Wheel assembly.

Very accessible for replacing or changing gobos, this unit can accept
metal or Glass Gobos.
Moving Round to the other side and we have the colour wheel.

Once
again nicely positioned for easy cleaning and replacement should the
need arise, between this and the gobo wheel above you have the shutter
which is in the centre between the two.
Finally
we have a clearer image showing the reflector and the Lamp.
The
centre cavity is well protected with an outer steel shell and an inner
alluminium shell (for better heat dissipation), this is where you will
find most glass parts after a lamp blow out.
