WEDDING DJ
INFORMATION
PAT
(portable appliance
testing)
PAT
ensures the safe and reliable operation of any equipment used preventing
hazards from becoming imminent and becoming a risk to the operator and
other members of the public.
When a client books a DJ they should always make sure the DJ has a valid
PAT certificate.
All DJ's featured on this website have valid PAT certificates.
PLI
(public liability insurance)
PLI
is now becoming more of a prerequisite for DJ's.
Many venues now insist that DJ's carry appropriate PLI cover.
Many venues fix a minimum figure for policy holders, this can range between
£1m - £5m.
In the event of an unfortunate accident PLI provides full cover for the
DJ against any liability.
When booking a DJ it is important to check they have PLI cover.
All DJ's features on this website have full PLI cover.
RISK ASSESSMENT
(perception of hazards)
Risk
assessment is something many DJ's fail to carry out.
This involves identifying potential risks and hazards to the DJ, Client,
their guests and to Venue Staff.
The operator should identify what constitutes a risk and then write down
a detailed report on each risk and how they reduce or remove that risk.
Some venues are now beginning to require these as part of their own PLI
(public liability cover).
It is the client's responsibility to check a DJ has this procedure in
place as some venues will refuse a DJ access to the premises without one.
All DJ's featured on this website currently provide Risk Assessments.
